Ajay Pal Temple

Ajay Pal Temple, established by Raja Ajay Pal, the founder of Ajmer City, is an ancient shrine nestled amidst boulder-strewn hills. The temple is situated in a natural depression, flanked by surrounding hills, creating a serene and visually captivating environment. The temple, along with the Ajgandheshwar Temple, forms a significant part of the area's historical and cultural heritage. The best way to reach Ajay Pal Temple is by motorbike. Starting from the base of Savitri Hill, a bitumen road leads towards Kharekdi village. The initial 3 kilometers pass through an unexpected forest in the Thar Desert, which then transitions to sand dunes and a valley surrounded by hills. As you approach Kharekdi, take the bypass road, turning right after 300 meters at a hand pump onto a dusty, slightly uneven road. The final 1 kilometer involves navigating rocky terrain, so caution is advised. A Bhairon Ji Temple marks the final turn before reaching Ajay Pal Temple. Along the way, you'll experience the vibrant rural life of Rajasthan, including herds of goats, colorful attire, and local village scenes. No restaurants are available along this route, so it's advisable to carry water, snacks, and a camera. During the monsoon season (August-October), you can enjoy views of springs, canal check dams, waterfalls, and flowing streams.
